the mind of a manic archives for August 2003

Added by snotty on 2003 August 31: Last night was sushi and Chicago - which was an awesome night. Today I went kayaking again and it was awesome. There were way more Orcas than the last time. They even swam below us and I enjoyed sleeping on the ferry. I did well for having only 3 hours of sleep. Didn't even do the picture thing. It was fun, but I'm ready to get back and cook, clean, and sleep =) Also, Janet is waaaay fun...

Added by snotty on 2003 August 25: back in seattle, bowling, beer and biking. Ate at isabella, went to sunbowl being the group of overdressed peeps. I bowled a 101 and then a 61. Then it was tennis with maria for an hour and then 65 miles around the lake with gary, colin's pub for dinner with aaron, janet, gale, and top it off w/ sex and the city. Good weekend.

Added by snotty on 2003 August 23: So I'm in chicago - lots of interesting people here. I love big cities. Instead of going out to party today, I had an urge to shop, eat, and then go back to my hotel room to code. The result? codepimp.com. The google integration is just cool. I went to kenneth cole, banana, niketown, gap, old navy, and a few other places. The damage? $300. Ate at a nice place and then went back to code in my hotel room. Time to sleep now and prep for the flight back to seattle. Gary is coming up this weekend to bike around the lake. Should be a fun packed weekend. Bonuses are also coming up and I hope I have enough to put a dent in the motorcycle.

Added by snotty on 2003 August 20: Last night was Janet's bday party. Thanks to aaron for donating his pad and the food. I scored a pony keg of Mac and Jack's Amber, which is Janet's beer of choice. The best was the kiddie pool soap wrestling by far. Summer was the best looking in her cat suit. Props to janet and summer for starting a few fights with a few choice words. Zach for the live play by play commentary, and shame on Z for not wrestling. Shahaf looked ripped in one of the pictures and threw down a few times. Aaron and Alex had the best moons, and thanks to the rest who showed up to make enough noise that the cops showed. Always a good sign for a party. The only downer is Cora didn't show up =( I actually met an old friend from Bellarmine College Prep. Remembering high school reminded me of the beauty of a simple phrase I need to remember more often, "Men for others." Though I'm an atheist, I'll probably donate to their cause at some point for what they have given me. Maybe it'll be considered insurance at some point =p Anyway, not sure if pictures can be posted w/o consent =p - those who missed out will just have to miss out (Rohit, Ravs, Shama, Cora)

Added by snotty on 2003 August 10: Just got back from alaska. Took a vacation with the family sans my brother. Semi-stressful, but not as much as other family vacations. We took NCL and it was fun. The international crew made it interesting. The food was decent and certainly plentiful, but the best part of the trip was definitely the sun soaking and sight seeing. The shows were pretty entertaining and there were a few new things, but for the most part, everything was geared for the geriatric and retired. We stopped in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Wrangell, and the Sawyer Glacier. The glacier was cool 'cause it ended in the ocean, and Mendenhall glacier near Juneau was cool because it was receeding. Juneau's wildlife was awesome and I got some pictures of bald eagles and what not. Saw finned sea animals and seals all over the place too. Did a hike with the parents and my mom almost fainted from dehydration. All in all it was a good vacation because it went by fast and I saw a lot of stuff. Glad to be back, and looking forward to work, biking, and getting my motorcycle weirdly enough. I feel like I've been neglecting friends lately too - so I gotta get cranking on that =/
