the mind of a manic archives for May 2004

Added by snotty on 2004 May 27: San Deigo was warm - it was a nice reprieve from Seattle weather and the food was great. Back in rainy wet seattle now but today was interesting. I went kayaking at the powerstation which is slightly downstream from snoqualmie falls. I'm going to try to do my first adventure race the first week of June - the Trioba. Now I have to just clean up the mountain bike.

We got to 12,900ft and we had to turn back. I've tasted the top though, so I'll definitely be back this summer. We tried the Ingram Direct route, but it proved to be too crevassed. I'm probably gonna do good old Disappointment Cleaver next time around. I started reading The Da Vinci Code thanks to Zach and it gave me semi-nightmares the first night when I basically fell asleep to the book. Letting the mind drift into the realm between conciousness and dream while reading a murder mystery thriller is not the best idea I've ever had. I finally beat Splinter Cell on the Xbox and I'm awaiting Halo 2. Heading off to San Deigo soon - hopefully I'll be able to catch some sun down there. The weather outlook for the seattle area sucks wet puddles...

It was great - Got to see Chicago the show and enjoyed sunny warm days in london at the park. Regents park and the subway were fun, but dang the air in London is dirty. Yesterday I went climbing with Chris even though I was sick and paid the price. My body hurts right now. We went back to exit 38 and did 2 5.9s and one 5.10 that Chris led. It was some good climbing. Lots of "life-keeping" I have to do now - pay the bills, fix the bike, get my contacts, return some stuff I bought, prepare for rainer and all I was able to do was get a haircut... things are moving slowly.
