the mind of a manic archives for June 2004

Added by snotty on 2004 June 28: The past week I was in NY and DC. Went to Cafeteria in NY and Aroma in DC and had a blast. It was some crazy work, but seeing Dean was nice - yet another person getting married. Got back yesterday and today I biked 65 miles around the lake. I think I did my fastest time, but it definitely pushed my legs. The bike is starting to squeak though, so I gotta get it tuned. The weather is great for the next few weeks and days - too bad I'll be travelling though. Gary and Vicky's wedding coming up and Frankfurt. More stuff to plan.

Did some crazy mountain biking in Cle Enum (~15 miles), kayaking (1 hr) and road biking (~30 miles) in Olympia and running in Green Lake (~3 miles) and the weather is nice now!!! Time to bite the bullet, clean up the place, and get ready for the good weather!!!

Started hallucinating in the last leg of the trip - we were in the middle 1/3 of the pack by just finishing. Not bad for a first adventure race. 100-150 miles combining kayaking, biking and treking. Just under 29 hours of the most intense physical thing I've done. Now it will all be about doing it faster.

Added by snotty on 2004 June 2: memorial day weekend was spent biking around on the west side on the road bike around discovery park and on the railroad trail on tiger mountain. Tiger claimed a few more flesh wounds and the need to get a real mountain bike with a full suspension and disk brakes became abundantly clear. The Trioba 24-hr race is just around the corner - I wonder if I can finish.
