Added by snotty on 2006 August 16: I just had to write about today's team event. Went sailing at Let's go sailing and it was a blast. We were on the Obsession and it was a blast because without an engine, all you can hear is the wind and the waves and it was very smooth. In other news, I'm looking forward to the Wicked 24hr in Oakridge, OR and my first expedition AR of Adventure Xstream in Moab, UT. Wish me luck.

Added by snotty on 2006 April 11: I just installed a new driver side front headlamp for my Jetta. In the manual it says that you should leave the blub replacement and alignment to the dealership. What a load of BS. The light costs 10 bucks and they probably want to charge you an arm and leg to install it and then align it. Now all I have to do is wait for the driver rear lamp and the passenger headlight to go - but I'll be ready. They'll probably burn out in the next 10k or so.

Added by snotty on 2006 February 4: Starting a few chapter. Watched Munich - it was very interesting and had its good moments, although the movie did seem to go on for a bit. In other news, I finally took the plunge and built a MCE 2005 box and set it up to stream to my Xbox. I also recently discovered the joys of a PSP. It's very cool, but having to spend another 150 bucks for 2GB of memory (which has still yet to show up) may be too much. Watching videos on it is probably the coolest feature.

Added by snotty on 2005 September 1: This past weekend, we went to camp at Merrill Lake near Mt. St. Helens and ran around Ape Cave. Who knew that cave slime was really bacteria that took years to build up? Not a bad time although we couldn't burn firewood due to the burn ban. In other news, finally booked almost everything related to the Italy vacation. All I'm missing is a car now =) This next weekend, the UCLA gang is going to come up and it should be fun!

Added by snotty on 2005 April 21: So I'm in vegas now. Last weekend was the Trioba Sprint Race. Congrats to the blue team for a great finish. I'm starting to believe that Vegas is my least favorite city in the US. It has nothing for me now, the cabbies and everyone else is there to rip you off and everything is overpriced for what you get. The only place I liked was the Westin which is slightly off the strip, but a proper hotel. Maybe it's because it's a new place, but it's not completely filled with smoke yet. Next week it's off to London so that will be fun. Hopefully it will be warm over there. In other news, the new pictures are posted which Lily scanned. In other news, I gotta get back into shape and maybe attempt Rainier again this summer, get into shape for more adventure races. I gotta get faster. In other news, a few weeks ago we tried to take Mina to see how she would react to other animals and it did not go well. Lots of clawing, hissing and hiding. Maybe next time.

Added by snotty on 2005 March 15: Jen and I just got back from Tahoe/Napa and the kitty was fine. It was another great skiing trip out to Northstar and I actually feel I got better. Blacks are cake now and I'm not even falling much anymore. I'm starting to get confident enough on the skis to do some small jumps, decks and even slow moguls, but I really need to work on turning faster and smoother on the double black moguls. Napa was fun as well and the weather was great the entire time. So great I think I have minor burns from the skiing and wine country. Now it's back to the office to show off the goggle tan.

Added by snotty on 2005 March 6: Ah yes - the weather here is beautiful - already spring like. Jen and I got back from Northstar for some good skiing for a few days and we'll be back again next week. Work is getting hectic as we're getting close to beta launch and there's a lot of cat herding to do. In other news, I saw Be Cool and it was better than I expected. Predictable, but fun - the only question I have is who *isn't* in that movie?

Added by snotty on 2005 February 19: It's been a busy few weeks. Just got back from RSA in San Francisco which was tiring. Had a few last minute reshuffles of my staffers, but all in all it was a good time. Jen is off to Japan for a week and then we're off to catch the last remnants of snow at Northstar at Tahoe. Then back to the bay area for more work. In sadder news, because I haven't been flying as much - I have been downgraded to only Primier on united. Oh well - ever since they are no longer a preferred vendor, I have not been flying them that much. I still need to get on a trip to asia as I've not been there since I was a kid. The weather is so good now that it's almost time to start looking into motorcycles and scooters again =)

Added by snotty on 2005 January 30: The past week has been mostly training leading up to the race in less than two weeks. We've got trail running at Rattlesnake friday, road biking up and down lake sammamish - although I blew an unpatchable flat after 17 miles, I had to walk back and get picked up. Then today, we rode around at St. Edwards State Park and got good and muddy. That's pretty much been the only news, save the chance that our adventure racing team may actually pick up a sponsor!

Added by snotty on 2005 January 16: This weekend was very busy. Friday was great - met up with Z and Seti at Des Amis after eating an impromptu dinner at Coastal Kitchen. The place has very good food - although for a cost. A homeless bum sat next to me for a while until he solicited some women for some money and was kicked out. The past two days have been physically tough as I've picked up cross country skiing. The equipment is cheap and the weather cold, but apparently you need it to be 15F outside in order to keep temperate. I have to say I'm hooked. Now on to Winteroba 2005.

Added by snotty on 2005 January 9: On saturday we skied through the brush the first day Jen and I have made use of our season passes. After 2 hours we went home - such is the value of a season pass - no pressure skiing. Pictures of Mina are now posted as well. The pictures are from thanksgiving, but are now uploaded - she is considerably bigger now. Mina is probably at 8-9 lbs. Also, my "have to see" list is now empty as we finally saw House of Flying Daggers at the Cinerama. All I have to say is that it's sometimes funny when it doesn't mean to be. Good color though.

Added by snotty on 2005 January 2: It's 2005!!! To update everyone, Jen and I went to California for the holiday season. We drove up to South Lake Tahoe and skied for two days at Heavenly which finally had some new snow just in time for the new year. The actual date was spent with dinner at Anthony's Pier and then an Argosy Cruise for the actual countdown. The fireworks on the space needle were my first, but I hear it has been the best of recent years. These past few days has been spent recovering and catching up on the movie scene. I still have to see House of Flying Daggers, but that's about all I have on the list. My latest discovery thanks to Daniel is the Salty's weekend brunch. All you can eat oysters on the half shell and crab during brunch - although they will make their money on the drinks and other fare. Now I can't wait for the stock market to open back up and work to get slowly rolling again.

Added by snotty on 2004 December 13: I no longer have the 600RR - it came out a wash after someone tipped it over in Queen Anne, and I didn't really feel like going to the Seattle Motorcycle Show. This just means I can get a new one in the spring maybe =) The holiday season is just around the corner and the weather in seattle is not as bad, but there is still no snow in the mountains. What a year to own a season pass =( At least during Christmas I have booked out Heavenly at Lake Tahoe - that should be fun. The plan is to now drive down with Jen and Mina the cat for christmas and head back up for the new year and get back to work on the 4th or so =) That and working out more. I'm starting to head downhill and the fact that I can't run well anymore didn't help our soccer team. Although we made it to the finals for the first time in 7 years, we lost our last 2 games with the same team and ended up 2nd place.

Added by snotty on 2004 November 10: The cat is probably 5-6 pounds now and still growing and getting fatter. This weekend was the seattle car show with aaron and gang and it was pretty fun. I'm really into trucks now for some reason, the Titan, Avalance, Frontier and Explorer Sporttrac are at the top of my list right now. Other than that, I'm temporarily in the bay area driving the Pontiac G6 which is better than I expected. I know for a fact that I don't want XM Radio now - the channels suck and there's less stuff of what I listen to than regular radio. I'll put up with some commercials rather than pay XM to have no commercials but nothing I want. Now to figure out that whole truck thing...

Added by snotty on 2004 October 15: What can I say - did another Trioba 24-hr race (Leavenworth) during Ocktoberfest, but didn't finish. It's much harder to do nav in the dark and when you've been awake 20+ hours. I really need to get better at being able to function with lack of sleep. In other news, Mina the kitty has been living at my place for a week and loves to tear up the leather couches, play with coins, boxes, bags and blinds - but is much better at sleeping in bed without disturbing anyone. Once in a while there are accidents, like spilled olive oil, pepper and balsamic vinegar but all in all, "she's a good kitty." Biking around the lake w/ Janet a few weeks ago was a bit of work on mountain bikes, and I had to miss Michelle's wedding due to the race - but it was good seeing Jen, Michelle, Z, Ami and Cora again (Seti was missing). The vehicles were also a problem this month - someone rear-ended me, but I got that fixed. The bike is still in the shop 'cause someone tipped it over *again*. Other than that - it's almost time to get out the snowboarding gear and plan another Whistler trip.
