Web Development Tutorial is a hands-on tutorial to help people learn the basics of web programming. The following topics will be covered:

  • basics of front-end development (HTML and CSS)
  • history and overview of website backends
  • introduction to static site generators using Jekyll
  • introduction to web frameworks using Django

the event

Attendees are expected to ssh into a new Debian virtual machine each and work entirely in the shell. They will not need to install or configure the OS, but they might be asked to modify Nginx configuration files.
