LUG@UCLA sponsors installfests, which are events at which people get together to do mass installations of computer operating systems or software, most often Linux and other open source software. Bring your laptop or desktop computer and get paired with an experienced member of LUG@UCLA. We will help you select a distribution, partition your hard drive, install the operating system, show you how to use it, and everything else in-between.

What is it like?

See pictures and videos of past installfests at our media gallery.

There will be food, drinks, entertainment, and swag (promotional items).

How to prepare

When is the next installfest?

We hold installfests on the Saturday of second week each quarter. See our calendar for the next installfest.
