Installing Linux on your computer is easier than you may think!

Using Linux for various classes at UCLA

Class Using Linux Instructions Notes
CS131 very helpful none VM image not provided. Most likely will need to use Cygwin.
CS118 helpful none VM image provided, but not necessary.
EE102 annoying none Use GNU Octave instead of MATLAB. Extra package needed for sound.
EE103 irrelevant none Use GNU Octave instead of MATLAB.
EE115A impossible none MUST use proprietary Cadence software (OrCAD+PSpice) for project.
CS143 helpful none VM image provided, but not necessary.
CS111 helpful none Must use VM image provided, or SEASnet Linux servers.
