probably because he sends all of his mail as attachments:

  Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-md5;
          protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="UugvWAfsgieZRqgk"
  Parts/attachments:
     1 Shown   ~15 lines  Text                                                  
     2         240 bytes  Application                                           
  ----------------------------------------

just that the first part is a text attachment, which most mua's display
inline.
