Hi,

I have a Diamond Viper V770 video card, a Sony 210GS monitor, and an
IntelliMouse. I try to do the configuration for the Xwindow using
xf86config. After I type in startx, the window appears too big (look like
300x400 or so), and the mouse jumps all over the screen (I have NT on this
machine, too and the mouse works fine with NT). Therefore, I shutdown the
XServer. I saw the following error message:

/dev/mouse unable to get status of mouse fd (Inappropriate ioctl
device)

	PID could not get read

My questions are:

1/ What does the error about the mouse mean? How can I fix the
problem?

2/ How can I make the screen appear like 800x600 in windows NT? (I
did specify in the XF86Config file. Since the screen looks so big, does
that mean that I didn't have the right driver for the video card? If so,
where can I download the driver for it?)

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
