[UCLA-LUG] Help - ATI Rage 128 Xpert

Hi,
I've a Fujitsu-Siemens Myrica with an ATI Rage 126 Xpert video card. I've
been trying to install Red Hat Linux 6.1, but a standard (with Xwindows)
installation failed with server not found. I then succesfgully installed it
in text mode. 
At the beginning of January I downloaded the latest XFree86 with ATI Rage
128 support. I've installed it and managed to configure it using XF86Setup
- horiz synch 30-86, vert synch 50-120.
I can now start Xwindows but the characters look mostly like bar codes!
Any ideas?
