okay, I was trying to configure ethernet card on my linux partition.
it's on hda7. second partition.
anyways, I could not get ethernet to work so I try to reinstall redhat 6.1 on second partition. somehow?? the redhat image got written in my boot sector I think, now every time I start my machine, I would see the read hat reinstallation screen instead of window.
I did
fdisk /mbr and sys c:
but it didn't see to help. then I run window setup.exe
from c:/windows/options/cabs/setup.exe
but that didn't do it either.
now I am trying to get back into my machine using redhat boot disk.
somehow, it loads default from hda5, and it have init error
I know these two command are needed
at LILO prompt
linux root=/dev/hda7
linux init=/bin/ash
but I cannot get both line in at LILO prompt, so
does anyone know how to
1. fix it so I can get rid of linux image on my boot sector?
load from windows?
or get into red hat ?
thanks.
