[UCLA-LUG] gdm xdm question

Thanks for the suggestions, but /var/run/utmp is there, and terminals are
open.

It seems that when I am in init level 5, it does not seem to notice when
people log on.  If I telnet/ssh in, it sees them, but the users that log
on using xdm (gdm actually) are not noticed.

Maybe it is a gdm bug?  I don't know.
